Improvement but not the complete answer

Summary: Worth the $16 (after rebate) to get a small improvement in signal.

My house is made of concrete and 3.5 stories high. The antenna improved my reception by "one bar". This was appreciated and did improve my connection reliability or transfer speed. It did not create a huge difference, thus only giving 3 stars.

The most important benefit is having the ability to move the antenna away from the wireless router, based on the cable that is supplied. This gave me the opportunity to maximize the signal strength without having to move my router.

As other people have noted, make sure you know that the antenna signal is orthogonal (perpendicular). Do NOT point the antenna at your computer. This will only weaken the signal.

Reduced file copy time

I did not really need this because my htpc is next door from my router, but I was curious. Installing this on my htpc's wireless pci card decreased the transmission time of a huge file by 15%. That sounds good.

Works for me

I was having WiFi issues in one of my rooms, so I picked up this D-Link for about $[...] after rebate. Bottom line, my problem is gone. Where I used to have 50% signal strength, I now have 80+%. I no longer lose my connection. For me, it was money well spent. I have the antenna mounted on the wall behind my desk, and it's working great.

Good Upgrade from wireless adaptor

Purchased the D Link Omni Directional 7dbI adaptor because of the enclosed space where the CPU and wireless adaptor were located. Even before I relocated the new D Link Antenna, the increase in reception was exceptional. The signal jumped from very poor to Good to Very Good on the reating system on my CPU. Location of the router is upstairs in a closet and without the antenna I am afraid contact with the router would have been unsuccessful. Needless to say, I am very pleased because the reception is better than I had expected. Would recommend this antenna to others. The only problem is the length of the cable that accompanied the
Antenna. I also purchased, at the same time since I knew the length of the antenna lead, a compatable Hawking Extension Cable so that I now have the versatility to relocate the antenna to many different locations to obtain even better reception.

Dlink-2.4GHz Omin-Directional Antenna

I live in a tri-level house. To get to the router; the singnal had to travel through stairs and a few walls. Before I installed the antenna I got poor reception, but now the reception is good and it does not drop.
