9 of 9 people found the following review helpful: Great Product with USB connectivity 4/27/2008 Audio Technica AT-LP2DUSB LP-to-Digital Recording System with USB Purchased for $86 with free ship. Now going for $76? Anyway what a great bargain. Have had just a few days ago and have produced several CD's off of LP albums. Also recorded some old scratchy 45's and songs from music station on Dish TV. So easy to use and the Pyro software is great. Using the USB makes it easy to transfer album muscic from turntable to your computer where your music is saved in .wav files. Just plug in the connection and you are ready to begin. You will probably want to plug the hardwire audio cables from your turntable to your computer speakers for listening. (After you save files from recording session you will of course need to plug your speakers back to you computer and also remove the USB plug as it seems to disable hearing your recorded .wav file from your computer.) Using Pyro, choose the LP option, give your file/project a name before you record. Won't let you record until you do. Hit the start button on the Tuntable and when your record drops hit the start record button. Just play through your whole album and hit stop when done. Your album is automaticly saved, of course you now have one big .wav file but it so easy to split up. After you are done you will have a time line amplitude graph of your album recording. You can easily see(or hear) the breaks where each song ends. You can quickly slide through the time line and put marks at the breaks of each song and then save in a multiple file format. Each song is saved as a seperate .wav file which you can keep or delete. They will be named as track1, track2. etc. You can easily rename them by looking at your album to get song title. You will probably then want to delete the large entire album file which is also saved. In recording music from sources other than the turntable you just directly plug in an audio line to back of your computer. Adapters are include so you should have no problem hooking up from cassete player, stereo system, radio etc.(anything with an audio out source). I record my Dish TV music channels that is hooked into my Sound Sytem. I have a line going out of the Stero headphone jack and plug in the audio jack of my computer. Just do an audio record from the pyro menu. There is also a microphone/record icon button you will need to push on first before you hit the start record button. Anwyay I might record about 15 minutes of songs before hitting stop. I then go through the time line and split out the indidual songs. I save the ones I want and delete the rest. One thing to rememeber is that after you have hit the stop button and your music files are saved the way you want. You should click on the time line and hit remove. This clears up for your next recording. Otherwise you would be splicing on to previous I think(?). I have used the noise remove options for my 45's in both the Pyro and Audacity software (both included). Need some practice too much and you can remove to much volume and/or distort your sound. Does seem to work pretty good. Only problem I had was in burning my CD. I went to My Nero software because I was more familiar with it. I am sure included software works fine. I noticed file conversion options are included with software. Haven't yet converted to MP3 or WMA but should be easy to use. VERY Cool! 4/27/2008 Great Turntable- works exactly as it should- compact- easy to set up I actually have never been a turntable owner, I skipped right to cassettes back in the 1980's! I bought this one to check out a record collection before selling it, so the price was perfect. Great Turntable and Will Not Damage Ones Wallet 4/26/2008 I have converted about fifty LPs to CDs since purchasing the turntable a couple months ago. The sound quality is excellent. I use Acoustica's "Spin It Again" to transfer the LPs to CDs...it is very easy to work with. I never installed the "Pyro" software which came with the turntable so I have no opinion on how it works.
