Make CD's of your LP's 6/3/2008 My recent purchase of the LP2D with USB connection turntable and software from Audio-Technica has provided an easy and effective way to transfer my extensive vinyl record collection from analog to digital. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful: A wonderful solution for LP collections 5/28/2008 In my younger years (long past) I collected classical LP's and made sure I kept them in pristine condition. Then along came CD's, and my much-loved 400-plus LP collection eventually ended up in a closet, gone but not totally forgotten. Then along came the Audio Technica AT-LP2D USB turntable. It's fairly low price kind of put me off. After all, how could such a simple and comparably cheap item like this do much to bring back my long lost LP's the way I remembered them. I'm here to tell you right now that this little gem of a turntable, fairly cheaply built, does all that is advertised, and then some. When I got it, the owners manual did little to help Vista owners, since they were written for XP, but it turned out it didn't matter. Everything loaded up pretty automatically, and after spending an impatient hour tweaking my sound card, and hooking the turntable up to USB, I got it right. I installed both the Cakewalk and Audacity software that came in the package, and chose Audacity for my first LP to computer transfer, since it was a bit simpler to use. To make a long story shorter, the recorded result was breathtaking, to say the very least. The sound was rich and full, the fidelity excellent. I was mesmerized. Here was my long, almost-forgotten musical past being brought to life again, in spades. There's a lot more than meets the eye to this whole setup, and my advice to LP owners is to run, don't walk, to pick one up. You will absolutely not be sorry. Thank You. Was this review helpful?
It's a nice way to go 5/27/2008 It is a good product, works well out of the box, and can be plugged in to an AUX jack if your receiver doesn't have a phono input. The Pre-amp is key for this. Thank You. Was this review helpful?
EXCELLENT VALUE 5/26/2008 This turntable will give you hours of fun turning old favorite songs into digital format. It is easy to use and the instructions with the software are clear and informative. The software does a great job of taking out noise from old albums. You do need to contact the company if you are using Windows Vista for an extra software download. I think the price for this product is reasonable and an excellent value considering all the fun you will have. Thank You. Was this review helpful?
Good product at reasonable price 5/25/2008 This USB LP to CD turntable was worth every penny. It does a good job and I have recorded about 4 dozen LPs to CDs since receiving it. The Pyro 5 software works well, but it can be confusing to use, especially the cleaning up of "noisy" LPs. I highly reccommend this to anyone who, like me, has hundreds of LPs you want to save before needles become impossible to find. One suggestion to make the experience complete. CDs that can be directly printed on by an inkjet printer so you can play these audio CDs anywhere. Thank You. Was this review helpful?
